In Memorium – Debra Chafe
We received the devastating news on that our Membership Officer, Debra Chafe had passed away after battling cancer for eleven months. Debbie joined our team as Membership Officer during the interim year of the WA-Alliance in 2020, in which we set up our organization and was due to step down at the Annual Members’ Meeting on 22nd December 2025. Debbie took up her activities with the enthusiasm and dedication that she brought to everything she did. Debbie was the first point of contact for our members and made sure that everyone felt welcomed. She was a valued and professional member of the team throughout her time with us. She steadfastly continued with her WA-Alliance tasks, attending online Council meetings throughout her treatment with determination and resilience. We will remember Debbie as a professional, cheerful, friendly soul, self-deprecating and modest – she was absolutely dedicated to our profession and to furthering the aims of the WA-Alliance. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her husband Wade, children Mark and Alexxa, to her parents and all her family. Debbie was an invaluable and steadfast member of our team for five years and we will miss her enormously.
